On Friday (Mar.7), Tina Knowles reposted a video from Beyoncé’s iconic performance in Cadillac Records as Etta James. In the post’s caption, Tina Knowles opens up about why she misses seeing the Renaissance singer on the big screen. “[This] just came across this in my feed,” Knowles begins.

Released in 2008, Cadillac Records is a biographical film that chronicles the rise of Chess Records and its recording artists. Beyoncé portrayed the complicated legendary blues singer, James, whose battle with addiction is almost as notable as her iconic hits. The singer donated her entire salary — nearly $4,000,000— to the Phoenix House Foundation, a non-profit aimed at helping those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.

Knowles adds, “I listened to it several times. This is still one of my favorite movies, and it makes me miss the fact that my child decided not to continue with movies. She killed it in this movie [heart emoji], and she so unselfishly donated her salary to the Phoenix house [heart emoji].”

Tina Knowles Says She Was Shocked By Beyoncé’s Grammy Wins

Last month, Tina Knowles stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show, revealing her shock after learning about Beyoncé’s latest Grammy wins. The singer had won two Grammys — one for Best Country Album and the Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter. “I was at her house, and I was there to help [her] and Blue [Ivy Carter] get ready,” Knowles recalled.

“I was just not expecting it — I was really, really shocked.” Even Beyoncé seemed taken aback when she won Best Country Album.

Knowles, who was watching the Grammy moment unfold with her grandchildren Rumi and Sir, said, “I was sitting there with my granddaughter Rumi and my grandson Sir and for a second, we were just sitting there and then when she did this,” she said, mimicking Beyoncé’s stunned reaction. “I said, ‘Oh, it’s real!’ I couldn’t believe it.”
