Will Smith wants to clear up any possible rumors about him hanging out at the now-infamous Diddy parties. On Friday (Dec.13), during a recent show in San Diego, the Independence Day actor addressed some memes he saw online connecting him to Sean “Diddy” Combs, TMZ reports. The rapper and actor did everything he could to distance himself from the disgraced mogul. “I don’t have sh*t to do with Puffy, so y’all can stop all the memes. Y’all could stop with all of that bullsh*t,” he says to the crowd.
Will Smith makes it clear he has never attended “no damn freak-offs.” Diddy supposedly used the phrase as a reference to the drug-filled orgies he would have at his home. “Listen, I do enough of my own sh*t. Don’t be putting me in other people’s bullsh*t. I ain’t been nowhere near that man, I ain’t did none of that stupid sh*t!” Will Smith says. He jokingly adds, “So whatever y’all hearing, if somebody [says] that, it’s a damn lie… I don’t even like baby oil.”
The Will Smith-Produced ‘Bel Air’ Series Heading Toward its Final Season
In other news, the Will Smith-produced Bel-Air series is approaching its fourth and final season. The hour-long drama streams on Peacock, offering a grittier view of the 90s sitcom we’ve come to know and love. The stellar cast includes Jabari Banks, Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones, and Simone Joy Jones. Premiering on Peacock on February 13, 2022, the series has become a fan-favorite, earning critical acclaim.
The show’s creation came to life following a four-minute spec trailer from writer and director Morgan Copper, who’s also an executive producer of the series. After its release, the video quickly went viral in March 2019 and garnered more than 7.7 million views on YouTube. In an interview with HOT97, Akingbola, who plays Jefferey, spoke about the impact of the show.
“All the comments that I received, I just thank you all for my heart, and it’s humbling. It also makes me tear up sometimes because I’m a fan of the original show, and those moments remind me that I’m in the show. I don’t take it for granted because this is a special show. A lot of people were worried that we were going to mess it up,” Akingbola laughed.
