Reboots of classic sitcoms will always be a HIT or MISS!
Shows like ‘Fuller House’, ‘Will And Grace’ and ‘90210’ have had successful reboots. Meanwhile, hit shows like ‘The Sopranos’, ‘Martin’ and ‘The Wire’ are sitcoms some people feel shouldn’t be brought back from the dead.
Would you want to see a remake of the iconic ‘Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’? What if it was told in a different perspective with a new dramatic angle?
This is the vision filmmaker Morgan Cooper has in mind when he created a pilot of his version of ‘Bel-Air’. Cooper’s storyline focuses more on the issues urban communities face today.
Although in the original sitcom, Will faced those same issues, in the newer version, it digs deeper into why Will made some of the choices he made. This angle strays away from comedy and gives viewers a more real and raw version of the show.
Will Smith was so impressed by Cooper’s content that he invited him to sit down and talk to him on his vlog. Smith was captivated by the dramatic angle and said that Cooper would be able to play around a lot with this.
