A leaked verse from Young Thug, intended for Lil Baby’s upcoming album The Leak$, has set social media abuzz with intense debate. The snippet, which surfaced late Monday night, features pointed lyrics that prompted Yak Gotti’s attorney, Douglas Weinstein, to publicly clarify the implications behind the words. In the verse, Young Thug suggests Yak Gotti may have cooperated with law enforcement during the widely covered YSL RICO trial. The lyrics read: “Yak Gotti tricked me for some years I ain’t know he was telling / Only reason I fw’d with you Gunna, it was cause of Troup.”

Responding on X (formerly Twitter), Weinstein defended his client’s reputation, stating, “Yak did not make any incriminating statements about Jeff during his police interviews. I’m unsure about the source of this allegation. Yak had the opportunity to testify against Jeff during the trial for a reduced sentence, yet he chose not to. He remained steadfast and confronted the jury.”

Weinstein continued engaging with followers, reaffirming his loyalty: “I will always back him, no matter who pursues DK—be it the streets, law enforcement, or the DA. Even if he may not desire it.” Addressing Gunna, he added, “I have never criticized Gunna. In fact, I have defended him whenever possible. The prosecution aims to turn the individuals against each other. Don’t be misled. Don’t be naive.”

Building Momentum for The Leak$

Young Thug’s contentious verse features on Lil Baby’s eagerly awaited album The Leak$, set for release August 15, following Gunna’s recent project, The Last Wun, which dropped just a week earlier.

In a recent livestream with PlaqueBoyMax, Lil Baby hinted at more music on the horizon. “Definitely, project dropping soon,” he said. “I just took a few songs that were already leaked and constructed an entire album from them. Most leaks aren’t the final versions anyway, but since people already have them, we’re proceeding with it. I’m actually releasing two albums, though—another one will come out about four weeks later, something like that. I wasn’t initially planning to release this one.”
