Nike Denies Involvement In Lil Nas X’s Air Max ’97 ‘Satan Sneaker’

Lil Nas X has social media in an uproar following the release of his newest single and Nike sneaker.

Nas dropped a visual to his single, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and it has everyone talking. Fans are surprised to see Nas seemingly giving the devil a lap dance in the visual. In response to all the backlash, Nas tweets, “we are in a pandemic and y’all are going on day 5 of being mad at a gay n*gga who don’t do none but tweet all day..”

The video got the attention of many people on social media, including South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem. Gov tweeted in response to the situation, “our kids are being told that this kind of product is, not only okay, it’s ‘exclusive.’ But do you know what’s more exclusive? Their God-given eternal soul,” Noem wrote on Twitter in response to the sneakers. “We are in a fight for the soul of our nation. We need to fight hard. And we need to fight smart. We have to win.”

Nas responded by telling the Governor by telling him to stick to his job. “Ur a whole governor and u on here tweeting about some damn shoes. do ur job!”

Following the backlash he received for releasing the custom Nike Air Max 97s, called “Satan Shoes,” Nike denies having any involvement in the sneaker. In a statement, Nike states, “we do not have a relationship with Lil Nas or MSCHF. Nike did not design or release these shoes, and we do not endorse them.”
