The hip-hop community continues to mourn the legend Earl Simmons, aka D.M.X.

His fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, shared rare footage of the moment he proposed to her. In the video, D.M.X. looked happy, and he was telling jokes. They were in a family gathering, and he said he and Desiree were supposed to get married but broke up. In a comedic voice, X said, “we basically not together anymore.” Then, D.M.X. went in his right pocket, pulled out a square box, got down on one knee, and pulled out a ring. You can hear everyone in the background clapping, and Desiree was smiling from ear to ear. She said yes, and the crowd cheered.

Take a look at the beautiful memory:

Before X passed, Desiree shared another rare family moment of D.M.X. just having fun in the car, listening to music. According to a report, the “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” rapper will star in a film, alongside Nas, Rick Ross, and Uncle Luke. The title is unknown, but it’s being shopped around for a distribution agency. The film is about teenage boys who watch their father die. D.M.X.’s character and his older brother are torn between music and street life. According to the report, Nas plays D.M.X.’s best friend, and Ross plays the role of their rivalry.

D.M.X. also finished a new album and a documentary before he passed. Last week, Swizz dropped D.M.X.’s first posthumous collab called “Been To War” ft. French Montana.

DMX FOREVER!
