A$AP Rocky pleaded not guilty to felony assault with firearm charges stemming from an alleged 2021 shooting in Hollywood. We covered the story here on the Wrap Up last week; A$AP Relii accused Rocky of shooting him multiple times. In the latest update, the judge ordered Rocky to stay away from Relii. LA Times reports there were two other men with Rocky at the time, and it's not clear if they're also facing any charges. Rocky returns to court on November 2.
Young Thug and Gunna got a chance to chop it up for the first time since their RICO arrest in May. They were at a pretrial hearing and spoke briefly via satellite until their lawyers advised them to stop multiple times. The hearing resulted in Thug being denied bond once again and shall remain behind bars until next year.
Earlier in the week, Fulton County District Attorney Fani WILLIS discovered someone leaked a court document about a witness's statement online. According to the report, the witness and their children receive death threats. Authorities are investigating who is responsible. Young Thug and Gunna head to trial on January 9, 2023.
Diddy asked fans on Twitter, "who killed R&B" and super producer, HitMaka responded online and said, "Diddy done lost his whole damn mind talking about R&B dead. Nappy Roots member, Fish Scales, was robbed, kidnapped, and shot at his brewery in Atlanta. Scales eventually got help from a neighbor and called the police. He appears to be in good spirits despite the circumstances.
R Kelly's Chicago trial kicked off. He's facing federal charges of enticing girls for sex and rigging a 2008 child pornography case. The woman from the "infamous sex tape" who is now 37, testified in court that R Kelly began having sex with her when she was only 15, and he was in his 30's, "100's" of times before she turned 18.
R. Kelly is being tried alongside his former business manager, Derrel McDavid, and associate, Milton "June" Brown. They're accused of conspiring with R Kelly to intimidate and bribe witnesses and cover up evidence in his 2008 pornography case, allegedly sexually abusing a minor.
The queen of rap Nicki Minaj will be hosting this year's MTV VMA's alongside LL Cool J and Jack Harlow! Nicki also will receive MTV's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award this year. She'll perform live for the first time since 2018, and the show goes down on August 28.
