Boondocks Is Coming Back w/ Aaron McGruder

The Boondocks

Following its comic book success, The Boondocks premiered on television in 2005 and took on controversial topics such as fake rappers, racism, the R. Kelly trial, the return of Martin Luther King JR., and more.

According to Variety, a “re-imagined” version of the show will return as it “chronicles the battles of the Freeman family against the evil local government tyrant Uncle Ruckus, who rules fictional Woodcrest County Maryland, with an iron fist.”

And yes, the original creator of the show, Aaron McGruder will return to the franchise. He also has a show named Black America on the way which is scheduled to air on Amazon.

No word on if the original voice actors would return for the brand new season of the show.
