I am a Survivor! Who remembers this classic? Can you believe it’s been 18 years since Destiny’s Child released their classic album, Survivor?

Total nostalgia! The legendary trio released their third studio album on May 1st, 2001. The classic album features chart-topping singles such as “Survivor,” ‘Bootylicious,” and “Independent Women Part 1.” Which one was your favorite? At the release of the album, it landed at number 1 on the Billboard top 200 charts. It stayed at number 1 for two consecutive weeks, Billboard also ranked the album number 70 on their “Top 200 Albums of the Decade’ list.

The album earned the group 3 Grammy nominations. It went on to become one of the best selling albums by a girl group, in history.

As we know, Destiny’s Child soon broke up and all went on to embark on solo careers. The train kept rolling for the ladies, as each of them have successful careers to date. You can see D.C. reunite on stage, in Beyonce’s new Netflix special “Homecoming.”

I never went to college, because I was touring. Had I gone, it would have MOST DEFINITELY BEEN AN HBCU! For my highschoolers out there, who have the opportunity to, choose an HBCU! Everyone I know who has, BRAGS about the experience and I soak up every story and pretend I was there. I didn’t have to pretend in rehearsals, I had a glimpse of the feeling. Thank you sis, for an experience I WILL NEVER FORGET! I love you, genius! If you haven’t yet seen Homecoming, check it out! Let me know what you think!
