Did Cardi B and Post Malone just get snubbed? It was announced that neither of these two artists will be ineligible in the ‘Best New Artist’ category at next year’s Grammys.

According to the Associated Press, Cardi has been disqualified due to her previous nominations for ‘Best Rap Song’ and ‘Best Rap Performance’ for her hit “Bodak Yellow”, at this year’s Grammys in which Kendrick Lamar won in both categories. Also, it was reported that Cardi’s application was submitted in the Best New Artist section for the 2018 Grammys but she was never nominated, and Alessia Cara won that award.

As for Post Malone, the rapper was never nominated for any Grammy awards, but he was deemed ineligible by the academy’s higher-ups as they suggested that he has surpassed that category. Malone’s latest LP beerbongs and bentleys was submitted to be nominated in the pop sections instead of the rap sections.
