It’s only right Howard University escorts one of their own!
The Showtime marching band has escorted the presidents to the White House in the past, this time it’s different because it’s a full-circle moment for Kamala. The marching band escorted Joe Biden and their alumna, Kamala. This went down after they took their oath to office.
In a statement, Howard University President Wayne A. I. Frederick said in a statement,
“Throughout her career, the vice president-elect has carried her Howard education with her, ensuring that she adhere to truth and service and inspiring her to achieve unprecedented levels of excellence.”

Kamala went to Howard University in the early ’80s and she earned her degree in political science. She’s also a part of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, in the National Pan Hellenic Council, also known as the “Divine Nine.”
