Kendrick Lamar has had an amazing year, and it seems like he’s still going full speed ahead. After winning the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music for his album DAMN., and having an extremely heavy hand in the Black Panther soundtrack, he still is making plenty of time to be in the studio cooking up some new music.

Isaiah Rashad, fellow TDE label-mate, said that he’d heard “whole dot album, damn near” during a studio session recently that he aired on Instagram Live. Of course, numerous outlets immediately hopped onto the news since new music from Kendrick Lamar is always something to be excited about.

However, Top Dawg updated everyone on his Instagram by quickly shutting down the speculation.

“ATTN: KDOT DONT HAVE A NEW ALBUM COMING NOTIME SOON,” he writes in all-caps. “So keep playing DAMN until the kid is inspired again.” Isaiah also commented on the post confirming he was kidding. “I swear we was joking in the studio dawg,” he writes.

Although this is disappointing news, DAMN., as well as all of Kendrick’s other projects still have great replay value, so fans can listen to those while waiting for an official announcement from the Compton rapper himself.
