Kelis pled not guilty in custody battle case with Nas and will take it to trial.
Nas claims she violated their custody agreement by taking their son out of the country.
According to Nas, Kelis broke their custody arrangement 17 times last year. Kelis also announced that she wanted to move to Columbia with her son and boyfriend to live on a farm, which would also be a violation.
Nas also claims that he couldn’t get in contact with Kelis when she was in Columbia, which meant he couldn’t talk to their son. He’s accusing her of refusing to allow him to see their kid. He also said she refused to pay $8k in sanctions she was ordered to pay previously.
This week, she pled not guilty to 20 counts of contempt, according to a source. Things could get ugly for Kelis if a judge finds that she violated the custody arrangement. She faces jail time or fines. Trial beings June 20th.
Last year, Kelis broke her silence and made claims that Nas was abusive.
