Nas and Kelis at one time were hip hop’s model couple.
After a four year marriage the couple decided to call it quits. Nine years after that, in the midst of a custody battle she has decided to open up about being allegedly abused by the Queens rapper during their marriage during an interview with Hollywood Unlocked.
“We had really intense highs and really intense lows,” she said. “It was never normal. An intense high would be when money was rolling in. But I was 22 when I met him. We were drinking a lot, getting high a lot. So when that comes down, it was bad.”
She later continued.
“When the Rihanna and Chris Brown pictures came out I thought about coming out because I also had bruises all over my body. But I didn’t say anything because I’m private. But seeing her the way she looked and then looking at myself. I felt embarrassed.”
Kelis also claims that he has poor parenting skills, and that there is a lot more she can reveal from their relationship together. See the full interview below.
