Interesting.

Meek Mill is working on using his celebrity, and example to bring change and prison reform to this country.

Earlier this morning (May 18), the Philadelphia rapper was reportedly setting up a meeting at the White House. That idea is no longer.

According to TMZ, Jay Z helped talk Meek Mill out of making an appearance at the Prison Reform Summit in Washington D.C.

We’re told Jay called Meek Thursday night and made it clear … meeting with Trump would be problematic for his image and for the cause.

We’re told other high-profile African-Americans also called Meek and voiced serious concern.

He gave the publication an explanation behind the report.

“I was originally scheduled to be part of a panel on Prison Reform at the White House to help shed light on the issues within the system. Unfortunately, the focus turned to the President and Myself which concerned me that it might take away from creating a positive result from today’s discussions. As a result, I decided not to attend so that the focus would be solely on fixing our prison system. Most importantIy I remain fully committed to improving.”

Meek Mill will be performing at Hot 97 Summer Jam on June 20. For tickets go here.
