Ne-Yo Says ‘Make Me Better’ Was Originally For Jay-Z & Beyonce

Ne-Yo made an appearance on the Frequently Asked Questions podcast and shared the real story behind (2007) “Make Me Better.” 

Timbaland produced the beat, and Ne-Yo came up with the hook. At the time, Beyonce and Jay-Z were in the studio. Ne-Yo initially wanted Hov and Bey on the track. 

During the interview with Fuzzy and Quincy, Ne-Yo says Hov felt the track was more in the R&B lane and passed on the song. Take a look:

Ultimately, Fabolous ended up on the track, featuring Ne-Yo. Back in 2019, Fab said “Make Me Better” almost went to Eve. The beat went to Eve, but she let Fab have the record.
