Styles P & Dave East sat down with Ebro in the Morning to discuss their new album ‘Beloved’, Drake’s comments on the Pusha T beef, including breaking down the rules of beef and how Drake was trying to rewrite them.
On the Drake and Pusha T beef, Styles P did not agree with the Canadian rapper’s assessment of the battle.
“We’re beginning to forget a lot of rules in the culture due to stars,” he said before later adding, “don’t come down here and change the rules. It’s war!”
Later in the conversation Dave East added to the debate after watching Drake’s appearance on the HBO series The Shop.
“You putting rules in the wrong place,” he said. “We’re not friends at that point.”
Styles P also spoke about quitting rap in the next two years, but not completely.
“I’m going to quit soon,” he said. “A couple years.”
Other topics include: Dave East vs Tray Pizzy beef, Styles thinking of “quitting” rap soon, and pressure on Dave East with his music, as he speaks about his process and why he isn’t stressed to make a hit album.
Their album Beloved is available now.
