Coming to America 2 is finally happening and it is set to have the original cast members.
The making of the sequel was confirmed by Eddie Murphy, who played the lead role of African Prince Akeem. In a statement Murphy said; “After many years of anticipation, I’m thrilled that Coming to America 2 is officially moving forward.” He continued; “We’ve assembled a great team that will be led by Craig Brewer, who just did an amazing job on Dolemite [Is My Name], and I’m looking forward to bringing all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen.”
These classic characters include James Earl Jones, John Amos, Arsenio Hall, and Shari Headly. The movie is set to focus on Prince Akeem’s return to America after finding out of his long lost son and the potential heir to the throne back in Zamunda. Craig Brewer is the director of this film and Kenya Barris, creator of black-ish is currently re-writing the script.
