Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B made her long-awaited debut at the NPR offices on Monday, delivering an energetic set for the popular Tiny Desk concert series.
The performance, which saw the Bronx native trade arena stages for an intimate office setting, featured a career-spanning medley of hits and tracks from her latest album, “Am I The Drama?” Accompanied by a full live band, Cardi B and her musicians adhered to an all-black dress code. The rapper, sporting a suit jacket and latex pants, opened the set with “Hello” before transitioning into “ErrTime.”
The performance offered a rare, stripped-down look at the superstar’s catalog, highlighting her vocal versatility and charismatic stage presence. Between songs, the rapper maintained her signature humor, joking with the audience about her rider requirements and her habit of smoking cigarettes.
“Let me get some water,” she quipped during a brief intermission in the set. The atmosphere shifted momentarily as she performed “Man of Your Word” and “Be Careful,” songs that touch on themes of betrayal and past relationships. The energy in the room surged during the latter half of the performance when Cardi B ordered a “change the vibes” to focus on her chart-topping anthems.
Cardi B Brings the Energy:
The set included the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Up,” her 2026 single “AH HA,” and the 2017 breakout track “Bodak Yellow.” She concluded the appearance with a lively rendition of the Diamond-certified hit “I Like It.” The Tiny Desk appearance comes during a prolific month for the artist, who celebrated her 34th birthday on Oct. 11.
She recently contributed the track “Don’t Chart” to the “Grand Theft Auto VI” soundtrack and has already begun teasing work on a third studio album, which she said she hopes to release in 2027.
Next month, the rapper is scheduled to travel to Toronto to accept the first-ever Global Woman of the Year award at the Billboard Canada Women In Music ceremony on Nov. 24.
