President, Donald Trump, announced a deal that will reopen the Federal Government but for only 3 weeks. This has been the longest Government shutdown in U.S. history.
“I am very proud to announce today that we have reached a deal to end the shutdown and reopen the federal government,” Trump told reporters at the Rose Garden. He initially stated he would keep the shutdown going until he received funding for a wall along U.S-Mexico border.
He will keep the government open until Feb 15th, thankfully this will allow thousands of Government workers to get paid for work. He also states he has a powerful “alternative,” but didn’t say what exactly that was.
