Gucci Mane’s 1017 Global has several acts presently incarcerated. In the debut episode of his wife’s podcast, All Things Keyshia Ka’oir, she asked why his artists continuously go to jail.
“Keyshia doesn’t waste any time in asking her husband a question that fans have been pondering. “So, the streets want to know why all your 1017 artists keep going to jail,” she inquired.
“Oh, wow. So that’s how we’re going to start?” the Atlanta rap star replied, laughing off the nerves.
1017 Global artists Hotboy Wes, Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and Bic Fizzle currently serve lengthy sentences for various crimes. Ralo, a former artist of Gucci Mane’s record label 1017, was released from prison in 2023 after serving five years for drug conspiracy charges.
After resetting, he responds: “I was one of those type of artists, I was always going back and forth to jail,” he said. “I try to help those artists that I feel I see a lot of myself in.”
From 2005 to 2013, Gucci Mane was frequently imprisoned for various crimes, including drug charges and probation violations. Although he was repeatedly imprisoned, this actually amplified his popularity within the hip-hop community. Fans commonly use the term “old Gucci” to refer to that particular time period.
He continued: “Through their little bumps or whatever they’re going through while behind bars, but I feel like if I’m not helping them, who else is going to help them? Nobody says that part of the story.”
Gucci and Keyshia Ka’oir married in 2017 with a televised special on BET. The couple started their relationship in 2010. In 2019, Gucci honored his wife’s perseverance during their relationship on Instagram, which received mixed reactions from fans.

As Gucci Mane’s wife adds “podcaster” to her extensive resume, he is preparing to release a new album, which is currently being promoted by his latest single, “TakeDat.” He recently shared an interest in making country music.
