In a new episode of the highly-controversial series, South Park, “The End of Obesity,” the topic of Ozempic is mentioned and includes a joke about Lizzo‘s confidence. Ozempic is a weight loss medication meant to help people diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Many celebrities have been accused of using the drug solely for its weight loss benefits, without having an official medical diagnosis. On Friday (May 24), the long-running adult animation series featured an episode where the character Cartman considers using the drug.
However, due to his lack of insurance, he cannot afford the medication. On the other hand, the physical offers him a different alternative: a prescription for Lizzo. “She’s a really good singer who talks about body positivity, and just being happy with the way you look. I want you to listen to Lizzo five times a day, and watch her videos just before bedtime. I’m afraid you’ll have to be on Lizzo for the rest of your life,” the doctor says. Lizzo quickly caught wind of the episode and offered her opinion of the joke.
The “Special” singer claims the mention only proves that she’s “really that b*tch.” Lizzo begins: “That’s crazy. I just feel like, damn, I’m really that b*tch,” she says in a video posted to TikTok. “I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f*ck to the point where these men in Colorado know who the f*ck I am and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years.”
Lizzo Opens Up About Depression: ‘You Don’t Know Until You’re Out Of It’
Earlier this week, Lizzo jumped on Instagram to show off her slimmer figure and noted she’s “the happiest she’s ever been.” The singer begins the post, by writing, “I’m the happiest I’ve been in 10 months.” Lizzo revealed that she had been suffering from depression for the past few months. A few months back the singer had been accused of creating a “toxic work” environment for her employees. While she has not directly linked that to her mental health, it seemingly has had a great effect on the star.
She added, “The strange thing about depression is you don’t know you’re in it until you’re out of it. I’m definitely not all the way as carefree as I used to be.. But the dark cloud that followed me every day is finally clearing up. My smile reaches my eyes again and that’s a win. I thought my album was finished.. but I gotta get some of these good vibes off in a banger real quick. Thanks for your patience..”
