Ne-Yo is facing criticism from his ex-girlfriend, Sade Bagnerise, for openly embracing his polyamorous lifestyle in front of their young children.
The Grammy-winning singer has drawn attention after publicly showcasing his three girlfriends—and recently hinting at a fourth. He addressed his unconventional relationship during an appearance on the Ricky Smiley Morning Show, making it clear that he hides nothing from his children.
Ne-Yo explained that he introduces his partners as his girlfriends and answers any questions honestly. “And she gonna make you some cereal, and she gonna cook lunch, and she gonna wash the clothes, and it’s all good,” he shared. “It’s family, it’s community. That’s what it’s about.”
Bagnerise, furious over his remarks, took to Instagram Stories to voice her outrage, calling it “disgusting parenting.” She accused Ne-Yo of ignoring her wishes and exposing their children to a lifestyle she disapproves of. “Didn’t I tell your corny ass not to have that s### going on in front of my kids? Do that cornball s### on YOUR OWN TIME,” she wrote.
She called his relationship “sick” and labeled him “weird,” emphasizing that she would not tolerate her children being involved. Ne-Yo has yet to respond directly but recently shrugged off criticism of his lifestyle.
Rather than engage in the backlash, the 45-year-old artist addressed detractors on Instagram Stories with a pointed message. “Them: ‘NE-YO, WE DON’T APPROVE OF YOUR POLY RELATIONSHIP,’” he wrote, sharing a selfie with a smirk while wearing a T-shirt that read, “Fun fact: I don’t care.”
