Will Smith sat down with B. Dot and Elliott Wilson for a rare interview on the Rap Radar Podcast.

The rare sit down gives tons of perspective on the actor’s thoughts on his rap career, his social media revival, acting, and much more.

As for his legacy and return to music, the former Grammy winner believes he still has some more left in the tank.

“‘Summertime’ and ‘Brand New Funk’ are the two [classic] records I’ve made and I think I got more in me,” he said. “I’m in the studio now and I have real things to say. That’s the thing that’s gonna be new and different and interesting about the music that I create going forward.”

He also addresses the reason he joined social media.

“Social media demands authenticity,” he said. “Social media pushes you more and more into having you reveal what’s true. ‘Cause if you don’t, TMZ is going to. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m actually enjoying the push. Nobody’s happy that doesn’t get to be themselves. I’m enjoying the social demand for authenticity.”

Smith also got a chance to look back at the one time Jay-Z and Beyonce jokingly almost cancelled a show because they saw video of the actor slapping reporter Vitalii Sediuk after kissing him in the face.

“I get back and I’m pissed that somebody thinks because you’re famous, they get to do whatever they want to do to you,” he recalls. “So I’m in my room and I had ten urgent messages from Jay-Z.”

“So I call him and say, ‘What’s up?’ He sounds winded,” Smith began. “He said, ‘I just saw the video of you slapping the dude in Russia. I just want you to know you’ll never make a better piece of entertainment. It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.’ He said, ‘Me and Bey, we got a show tonight, and we’re thinking about cancelling it and just staying in and watching you slap this dude.’”
