Wrestlemania week is full of surprises.
On Wednesday (April 3), WWE superstar Chelsea Green shared on X that the Fairmont Hotel in New York City kicked her out after security alleged she was an escort. The 32-year-old former tag-team champion tweeted to her 369,000 followers, mentioning the hotel by tagging it. The tweet reads:
“Man… one night you’re wrestling at Barclays Center, having the time of your life and the next you’re being kicked out of @FairmontHotels and accused of being an escort because of your outfit. Life is funny! Maybe next year I won’t celebrate Wrestlemania weekend at The Plaza Hotel LOL…”
The wrestler’s tweet got many fan comments, and she replied with witty remarks and movie references. Fans stormed the hotel’s social media accounts with negative comments.
Green was in the Big Apple with WWE taping an episode of Monday Night Raw at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. According to a statement given to TMZ, Green and her friend visited The Plaza’s Champagne Bar at approximately 5:45 PM on Tuesday, April 2nd, to have a drink before attending a Broadway show. However, they were informed that they could not stay since they were not hotel guests.
A patron invited Green and his companions to a bar, but the staffers accused them of escorting when they walked by security. The superstar objected to the remarks about her outfit, feeling that they implied she was an escort.
TMZ confirmed that The Plaza’s Champagne Bar was open to the public. An enraged Green spoke to the hotel’s front desk about an incident.
Chelsea Green started wrestling in 2015 and joined WWE in 2018. She will compete at Wrestlemania 40 in Philadelphia on April 6th and 7th. In January, WWE signed a 10-year deal with Netflix.
