On Tuesday the “911” singer was mistakenly handcuffed by the LA County Deputies for a gas station robbery that he did not commit. Clef took to social media to address the situation, along with posting a video that showcased his interaction with the county deputies and now he’s demanding a full investigation from the LAPD.

This morning Wyclef appeared on Good Morning America to discuss the story even further with ABC’s anchor Robin Roberts. “The racial profile point I want to make is basically that I was targeted as a Black man,” said Wyclef to Roberts.

“The way that the cops rushed me [and] the conversation I was having with them, it was a silent and a deaf conversation…. to the point where I could’ve acted different [and] if I had acted different, something else would’ve happened.”

The Grammy award winning musician’s reps sent out a formal press statement that reads: Mr. Jean is requesting a formal investigation into racial profiling by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and the LA Sheriff’s Department while calling upon the ACLU and Black Lives Matter to join him in defense of civil liberties and racial bias.”

Although the Sheriffs Office issued a public apology Wyclef is not letting this go!
