Donald Trump Officially Being Investigated For Having Russian Ties

We are only two months in, yet the President Donald Trump adminstration we have experienced tons of things we have never seen in a presidency.

Following Trump’s tweets that former President Barack Obama had wiretapped him at Trump Tower at the tail-end of his tenure, the FBI was forced to investigate the matter.

Well. They did. And it didn’t turn out well for the president.

FBI Director James Comey answered questions under oath about Trump’s wiretapping claims as wells as the alleged investigation into his administration’s ties with Russia.

“I have been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election,” Comey announced to the House Intelligence Committee. “That includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.”

He also officially denied finding any information on wiretapping that the president claimed happened under Obama.

“I have no information that supports those tweets,” he said.

The FBI has been investigating Trump’s ties to Russia since before the election and as early as June 2016.

Trump tweeted his thoughts early this morning before the hearing occured.
