Beloved Actor Louis Gossett Jr. Passes Away At 87

Beloved actor Louis Gossett Jr. has reportedly passed at 87. 

Gossett became the first Black man to win an Oscar for Best Support Actor for his role in the miniseries “Roots.”

According to his nephew, Gossett passed away on Thursday night in Santa Monica, California. No cause of death was revealed at this time. 

Gossett was mostly known for his roles in “The Color Purple”, “The Mod Squad,” “Bonanza,” and “The Rockford Files.”
