Puma responds to backlash she faced after a picture of her and her mom, Erykah Badu, showing off their curves went viral.
We previously reported that Puma, 18, shared a picture of her and her mother, facing backwards towards the camera- showing off their curvy bodies. “Mother and daughter, embracing their beautiful bodies…The black woman is GOD” commented one fan.
On the other hand, many people felt the picture was inappropriate, “as beautiful as those yams are, it’s kind of weird for a mother and a daughter to advertise their yams on the internet together. What is happening to us as a black folks in America? We have accepted a normalized abnormal behavior” one comment reads.
Puma caught wind of the backlash and shared her opinion online. She writes, “I posted a pic (not my mom) of me and my mama Badu in some cute, form-fitting pants. I’m an adult,” she wrote. “What’s the real issues? Let’s discuss.”
Both her mother and father, Badu and D.O.C responded on the post. “well…,” wrote Badu, and “well…” wrote the D.O.C. He added, “she’s a good kid and I chose my battles carefully…”
