Protestors in New York are outraged after a video surfaced of two NYPD cruisers driving into a crowd of demonstrators. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio addressed the footage and called it unacceptable, dangerous, and an “extremely aberrant situation.”

“There is no situation where a police vehicle should drive into a crowd of protesters or New Yorkers of any kind.

NBC reports, De Blasio’s 25-year-old daughter, Chiara, who is half black, was also arrested this weekend while she was peacefully protesting.

“She was acting peacefully. She believes everything she did was in the spirit of peaceful, respectful protest,” he said about Chiara. “I admire that she was out there trying to change something she thought was unjust and doing it in a peaceful manner.” De Blasio went on to say during a press conference, “I trust my daughter, I’ve known her, her whole life. She’s an incredibly good human being.”

“This is not someone who would ever commit any violence … she was very clear, she believes she was following the instructions of police officers and doing what they were asking. I’m going to let her speak for herself.”

Another situation is being reviewed where an NYPD officer pulled his gun out in the middle of a crowd. The officer was immediately removed from the situation but de Blasio says the officer should have his gun and badge taken away.
