UPDATE:

A group of Oklahoma teens were traveling to the Dominican Republic and mysteriously became ill at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana. NY Post reports that the group of high school seniors enjoyed themselves on the beach but then the trip took a wild turn. After eating at the resorts Japanese restaurant, seven members fell sick.

They were rushed to the hospital and hooked up to IVs. It’s unclear if this sickness has anything to do with the string of deaths that’s been happening in DR.

This is a trend we DON’T want!

Last week we reported that Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran’s brother John was found dead in his hotel room in the Dominican Republic.

According to CNN, a ninth person has died while vacationing in DR within the last 13 months. 55-year-old Joseph Allen from New Jersey was found dead in his hotel room on June 13th. He was staying at Hotel Terra Linda in Sousa.

His family claims that this wasn’t his first time at this hotel. Allen was traveling with friends and they tell the family that he was complaining about not feeling well. The very next day, he was found dead.

It was confirmed by the US State Department. It’s unclear what his cause of death was, like many of the other cases.

Our hearts and prayers are with all of the families of this peculiar story.
