Ever since Popeyes released their infamous chicken sandwich, there’s been a little chaos within the culture.
A man lost his life, a white supremacist went off on black folks then got beat up, and lines have been crazy everywhere! Now another crazy chicken situation has popped off in NYC.
According to a report, a customer, Jeremy Merdinger, found a half-smoked joint of marijuana in his chicken sandwich! He purchased two sandwiches from the West 14th Street location and bought a regular and a spicy sandwich.
Merdinger told the news that when he was halfway through his sandwich, the “roach” fell into his lap. He was shocked and then disgusted.
Merdinger initially wasn’t planning telling news outlets, but he was disappointed in the response he received from Popeyes. The fast-food chain said they would investigate but then said that it happened outside of the Rey and there was nothing they could do.
A Popeyes spokesperson said,
“We have high standards for the quality of our ingredients and the preparation of our food. We take all feedback about our meals seriously and quickly take action to make sure all of our guests have a good experience.”
