Rapper DaBaby has put his legal drama with Brandon Bill$, the brother of his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child, DanLeigh, behind him after the lawsuit stemming from a 2022 altercation was settled last week, according to L.A. court documents. TMZ broke the news on Sunday, June 8.

The agreement resolves claims filed by Brandon Bill$, whose legal name is Brandon Cruiel, after a physical confrontation at Corbin Bowl went viral and spawned years of litigation. Court records indicate the parties reached a settlement before trial, though the terms remain confidential.

The lawsuit arose from an incident that followed months of public tension between DaBaby and Bill$. Their dispute traced back to DaBaby’s highly publicized relationship with DaniLeigh. Bills frequently criticized DaBaby during the fallout surrounding the couple’s breakup, fueling an increasingly public feud.

The case returned to public focus in recent months after deposition testimony revealed sharply different accounts of the events leading to the fight.

According to Bill$, DaBaby approached him shortly before the confrontation and issued a warning.

“I just want to slap you up a bit. I just want to slap you around a little bit,” Bills testified the rapper told him moments before punches were thrown.

Bill$ alleged that DaBaby initiated the altercation and delivered the first blow. His claims formed the foundation of the lawsuit, which sought damages for injuries he said resulted from the encounter.

DaBaby’s legal team disputed those allegations throughout the proceedings. The rapper maintained that Bill$ acted aggressively and challenged assertions that he started the fight. The defense argued that the circumstances surrounding the confrontation differed substantially from Bill$’ account.

The conflicting narratives became a central issue in the litigation. However, the settlement means neither side will have to present those claims before a jury.

Because the agreement was reached outside the courtroom, no judge or jury determined who was responsible for the altercation. The resolution allows both parties to avoid the expense, uncertainty, and public scrutiny associated with continued litigation and a potential trial.

The settlement also closes a chapter that extended far beyond a single confrontation. What began as a personal dispute connected to family tensions evolved into one of hip-hop’s most closely followed civil cases. The matter generated years of headlines, legal filings, and public commentary from both camps.

With the lawsuit now resolved, the legal battle between DaBaby and Brandon Bill$ appears to be over. While questions surrounding the incident may remain, the settlement ends the courtroom fight and allows both sides to move forward without further litigation.
